The latest entrant Datsun redi-GO is a car having the combination of ease of a hatchback and the ruggedness of a sports utility vehicle (SUV).
The Datsun redi-GO will be the third car from the Datsun after the Go and Go Plus which are currently on sale in India.
Datsun says that the redi-Go will be India’s first ‘Urban-Cross’, a car with the best features of a crossover and mixes them with the major attributes of an urban hatchback.
Datsun redi-GO is 3,430mm long. One of its USP is the best-in-class ground clearance of 185mm and different looks. It also gets LED daytime running lights, a first in the entry-level segment.
The tall body structure gives a spacious, bright interior and high driving position that is beyond expectations for a car in this class.
The top-of-the-line redi-GO comes equipped with power steering, front power windows and an infotainment system compatible with CD, USB and AUX. On the safety front, Datsun redi-GO is equipped with PRO SAFE 7 crash protection shell and a brake with the shortest braking distance, all of which ensure a person’s safety.
redi-GO is powered by an all-new, fuel-efficient 0.8L (800cc), three-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
redi-GO has boomerang shaped tail lamps which look quirky and add some style to an otherwise simple rear. The rear bumper gets a faux skid plate as well and a reflector at either end.
The Datsun redi-GO will be launched for the Indian market on June 7, 2016. It will take on the likes of the Maruti Alto 800, the Hyundai Eon, the Tata Nano and the Renault Kwid.
